Story of the Blue Angel

Story of the Blue Angel

A story behind one of my greatest pieces, titled "Blue Angel".

Last year, I was outside painting a 5ft abstract, and a lady's profile started coming out on the canvas.  This has happened before and when it does, I concentrate to embellish it and bring it out with all the details.  After an hour or so the painting was done, I got a piece of paper and wrote down the words, “I did not paint this painting.”  I really felt that way because I did not plan to paint it at all.  It turned out to be one of the best paintings that ever appeared on my canvas.  I named it the "Blue Angel.”

The story continues when I sent a small reproduction of it to a friend in Chicago, who’s husband was fighting cancer. She thanked for sending it and then put the painting on her credenza.  The next morning, she saw a beam of sunlight coming through the window and it was shining a rainbow prism on the Blue Angel.  She made a photo of it and sent it to me.  She felt strongly that it was a sign that God and the universe was still in control of things.  She said she definitely found strength and love through this painting.

Since then, I have sent small reproductions of the “Blue Angel” to other people with cancer and drug/alcohol problems.

This painting is truly a special one, and the “Blue Angel" is still giving off the power of hope and love to others that see her.

Any collector that acquires one of the reproductions of the “Blue Angel,”  can actually personalize it by having me complementary  add, change, or remove some of the colors.  I call it a “tweak”   Here is an example of a “tweak" explained below:

A client needed me to add in a pink fuchsia color to the blue angel to match her dining room colors.  I still own the original “Blue Angel” so I made an exact reproduction of it, and then complementary added the colors she needed.

Discover how "Blue Angel" became a symbol of hope, healing, and connection.
